Friends with a passion for wine

Tanino Import was founded by Ana Bulas and Georgios Sidiropoulos, who became friends while living in the same house in 2018. They quickly discovered their shared passion for good food and drink, and the idea to start a company came naturally. Ana, with her family’s generations-long experience growing wine in Portugal, and Georgios, eager to take on the challenges of starting a new company, joined forces to import high-quality wines from Portugal to Sweden. Tanino’s unique advantage is the combination of Ana’s extensive knowledge of winemaking with Georgios’ drive to succeed in a new market.

For us, wine means family and friendship, a story that has its roots in José Bulas Cruz, the father of the current owner, and a very prestigious man in Douro

Bulas family aims to produce grapes and wines of exceptional quality, which capture the essence of the Douro Region in a sustainable way.

Representing great winemakers is a privilege, and we are always excited to share the rich heritage of the Bulas family’s wines from the Douro valley in Portugal.

Our vines are ‘A-rated’, the highest quality grading conferred by the region’s wine regulatory body.

The vineyards are treated to maintain the balance and resilience of the plants in harmony with the surroundings, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and future sustainability.

The old vines’ schist terraces have been built more than 100 years ago, but we have evidence that dates the production of wine as early as 1756.

The farms are located in an environment of outstanding natural beauty, classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.

Future

Our goal at Tanino is to expand our client portfolio by sourcing quality wines from all over Europe. However, for the moment, we invite you to fully savor the uniqueness of the Bulas family wines. To ensure consistent and high-quality products, we collaborate with the best companies and individuals in the industry.

Georgios Sidiropoulos

My name is Georgios Sidiropoulos, and I am one of the people who have started Tanino imports. In addition to this company, I also work in the elevator industry. I am different from the typical wine importer who knows everything about wine and its history. My colleague is much better at that. Instead, my strong point is that I like solving problems and meeting people. A lot of it is also about delivering something that creates joy. My goal with this company is not for us to be the first on the market. Instead, we should be able to offer that little extra. What drives me in the company is that you not only get to taste something good, but we can also offer wine tastings that are both fun and knowledge-based.
